Boat Parts
Photo 2 (blue area)
The following two photographs show the area of excavation outlined in blue.
The first photograph is without graphics, to show the image, the second with outlines of objects of interest in white. The photo is taken looking West in relation to the perspective of the other photographs, which are all taken looking North.
In the center of the picture can be seen a large hole, which was in existence at the time of excavation. It is possible that this hole is located in the keel of the boat. This picture shows the lowest level of excavation into black peat like material. This black material has the texture of something solid, but will collapse if pressure is placed on the object with the pick instrument. I have every reason to believe it is wood, which has partially been replaced by the onset of fossilisation through chemical osmosis.
There are several regular shaped objects, which may be fixing rivets either side. Resting on top of this, in the foreground, is the edge of another metal object, which can be seen in greater detail on the following photograph.
